Vihiga Bullets patron Moses Akaranga has denied reports that the club is on the brink of folding after demotion from the top flight football in the concluded season.Bullets were relegated from the Football Kenya Federation Premier League season with reports suggesting that the club could fold after the demotion.Rumours had suggested that, Kona Rangers would occupy Vihiga’s slot or a possible merger with Soy United was also widely discussed.Akaranga in an interview with Mozzart sport , refuted the claims noting that the team was intact and ready to fight their way up to the Premier League.” I have read reports for some months now news suggesting Bullets will be disbanded or on sale. I want to assure Kenyans that the club is here to stay and we are already preparing to start our pre – season as we aim to fight for promotion once again,” he said.The former county administrator also hinted at a long lasting solution to the challenges the team faced in the last campaign though much wasn’t divulged.” We had a lot of challenges last season. Hopefully next season we are going to be even more better ,” hinted one of founders of Vihiga United.On his side ,head Coach Milton Kidiga who was flanked by his boss, pledged to inspire the team back to the top division.” We have heard a lot of things going on but after a meeting with my CEO we can assure that Bullets are here next season and many more seasons to come,” he stated. The 2020/2021 season National Super League runners up ,are expected to beef their squad with few new faces expected in a bid to have a competitive squad as they aim at an immediate return to the top tier . ” We are going to add some members but we can’t tell the number at the moment. Once we report to training ,we will assess all options available then make a decision,” he pledged.Vihiga have completed the acquisition of their former custodian Benard Onunga who had an impressive season with Gusii FC.Also returning to the club is Zablon Cheloti who featured for Gusii last season.The Vihiga based club are set to start pre – season on July 25 with the team camping in Mbale before engaging in series of friendlies across the country .
