The German second division is full of once-successful big names of their domestic football, such as HSV, Schalke, Kaiserslautern, Karlsruhe, Hertha Berlin…The latter, a club from the German capital, however, has its own incredible and rather unusual story.Two-time Bundesliga champions are led by Hungarian coach Pal Dardai, who previously spent 14 years as a defensive midfielder at the club. Dardai didn’t manage to save his loved one from the Bundesliga relegation a few months ago but was shown support from the club’s board to try taking them back to the elite.Ok, so this is pretty crazy stuff coming from Hertha Berlin…Manager Pál Dárdai officially played all 3 of his sons in a Bundesliga 2 match vs Düsseldorf last night. Marton (21), Palko (24) and Bence (17) all featured. In short, a family gathering! 😅👨👦👦 pic.twitter.com/2n0vez72rK— EuroFoot (@eurofootcom) July 30, 2023 To do so, Dardai, 47, uses all the help he can get, including his own family. Like, literally. In the last night’s maiden game of the Bundesliga 2 season, which ended in a 1-0 loss at Fortuna Dusseldorf, Dardais entered the history books.Beside Pal, we saw three more Dardais on the pitch – his sons Palko, Marton and Bence!##EDITORS_CHOICE##Marton, the 21-year-old centre-back, was the only of the brothers in the starting XI.However, just 30 minutes into the match, Dardai Sr decided to put his eldest son Palko, 24, on after one of his midfielders got injured.##NAJAVA_MECA_7395934##Unfortunately for Hertha, or shall we say Dardai United, they conceded early in the second half. Near the end, the Hungarian gaffer went for a desperate move and provided his youngest son Bence with a chance. The 17-year-old attacking midfielder had 12 minutes to prove himself and maybe trigger a comeback, but Dardais had to face a 1-0 loss.Who knows, maybe next time, we’ll see all three young Dardais straight from the kick-off, and Hertha could maybe benefit from it.History has already been written.
