TWIST: Gad Mathews to stay at Gor Mahia

Gor Mahia goalkeeper Gad Mathews has confirmed that he is staying with the record Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) champions ahead of next season.”Another epic season with this great team,” he posted on his official Facebook page. The former Wazito FC and Kariobangi Sharks custodian was heavily linked with a move to another FKFPL side Bandari FC. In a recent interview, Bandari FC Vice Chairman Twaha Mubarak told Mozzart Sport that the two clubs reached an agreement with only personal terms pending. “The clubs have reached an agreement on the transfer, we are now finalizing on the personal terms of the player,” Twaha said. The club was looking to rope in Byrne Omondi from KCB FC, but the deal fell through after the Bankers refused to bulge forcing the player to return the sign-on fee Gor Mahia had paid him.
