Naivas FC confirms parting ways with five players ahead of new campaign

Naivas FC team manager Charles Maina has confirmed the club will not issue new contracts to five players upon expiry of their deals with the club. Speaking to Mozzart Sport, the administrator noted that the players were deemed surplus to requirements and had little contribution to the team in just concluded campaign while some had opted to hang their boots. Maina also indicated the chop was necessary as it freed up the wage bill at the club creating room for new faces to be registered at the Naivas retail shops powered club. Mozzart Sport has since established that defender Collins Omogo, Samuel Mwendwa, Sylvester Godwin, David Omondi and winger Emmanuel Mutiso have both left the club and won’t be offered an extension.Veteran Omogo was a regular in coach Elvis Ayani’s team last season featuring 20 times out of 32 league matches and after years of wiggling in the green grass, the lanky defender is set to retire from football. ##NAJAVA_MECA_7403863##Sammy Mwendwa, Sylvester Godwin and David Omondi saw their time at the club reduced to the bench after emergence of terrific talent at the club and have now been given permission to source play time elsewhere.Despite featuring regularly for the club last season speedy winger Emmanuel Mutiso play time was reduced towards the end of the campaign as John Walubuka created a formidable front three with Ken Mutembei and Brian Ouru limiting his play time.
