We’ve seen some weird collaborations in sports in the past. We’ve seen LeBron James rock Liverpool shirts and appear at Anfield, we saw Newcastle United players try themselves at baseball in Atlanta, and we used to watch the F1 legend Michael Schumacher play football. The latest crossover is perhaps the most baffling: the legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady has pulled on a Birmingham City shirt and announced himself as a new member of the Championship club’s board. To make matters even more celebratory, Brady has announced his arrival on the day of his 46th birthday. Here we go! According to a statement from the club, Brady will utilise his vast leadership experience and knowledge to contribute to various aspects of the organisation. This includes working alongside the sports science department to provide guidance on health, nutrition, wellness, and recovery systems and programs.##NAJAVA_MECA_7408411##The man who lifted the Vince Lombardi Trophy with the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was seen wearing a Birmingham City home shirt in a video.”Birmingham is an iconic club with so much history and passion, and to be part of the Blues is a real honour for me. BCFC is built on teamwork and determination, and I’m excited to work alongside the board, management and players to make our second-city club second to none. I’ve been part of some amazing teams in my day, and I’m looking forward to applying my perspective to create that same success here in Birmingham.”Club chairman Tom Wagner proudly announced Brady’s arrival as a sign of things to come.”Tom Brady joining the Birmingham City team is a statement of intent. We are setting the bar at world-class. Tom is both investing and committing his time and extensive expertise.” 🔵 @TomBrady. In fact, they haven’t finished above 17th in the Championship in the previous seven years. Their last campaign in the Premier League was 2010/11. Maybe the great Tom Brady can plant a winning seed at St. Andrew’s.
