KCB Chess team portrayed its tactical prowess by ousting JKUAT Chess team 5-0 to maintain its position at the top of the table in the ongoing 2023 Kenya Chess Premier League.KCB’s Joseph Methu, Candidate Master Ben Nguku, former national champion Martin Njoroge, Jackson Kamau, and Woman Candidate Master Joyce Nyaruai outplayed Javan Ouma, Victor Githui, Benjamin Muthama, Raphael Muthenya, and Veronica Matei of JKUAT Chess Club respectively in the Sunday afternoon fixture played at KCB Ruaraka Sports Club.Speaking after the game, KCB chess team player and Woman Candidate Master Joyce Nyaruai said, “It was an intense match that pushed our limits, and I am incredibly proud of my team’s performance. This victory is a testament to our hard work, resilience, and dedication to the game.
