A day after his team shipped in eleven goals in two matches at the ongoing games in Kakamega, Khofor Harar head coach Adan Noor has called on the government to consider initiating sports development centers in the semi-arid area of Kenya.Khorof, a school from Wajir East sub-county, Wajir County qualified to the nationals after eliminating Ahmed Liban to get a maiden appearance at the national stage.School Games: Huge crowds, gadaa dance highlight of the ongoing championshipThe side had a baptism of fire welcome from host Shanderema soaking in eight goals before stumbling to a 3-2defeat to Kirangari on the second day of the school event, a performance Noor believes could be avoided if the region was given more attention when it comes to sport just like other regions in Kenya.”No one cares about our region, we need more support,” he lamented.The youthful expert, who doubles up as a teacher at the little-known school, noted that coaches go through a hard time soliciting and preparing a team for such competitions as people from the region do not value football as a matter of government failing to fully roll out the most loved sport in the area.##NAJAVA_MECA_7417215##”We really struggle assembling a team here as the locals do not attach any importance to these games. Sports ministry should come up with a way of ensuring each region gets a team competing in the leagues nationally. That way our youths will have interest in the sport,” offered Noor who is also aiming to enroll in CAF D coaching class to acquire adequate skills on the game.The experienced chemistry teacher pleaded with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to come up with a policy that will ensure each region has a representative in the leagues as it will help unearth talents from the marginalized areas as per the Horor school gaffer.Noor acknowledges that his charges were outdone on physicality but was optimistic of bridging the gap before next year’s competition.
