On Sunday, Amy Yang claimed the 2023 CME Group Tour Championship title and $2 million purse at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, with a score of 27 under.
Yang, who suffered an injury — tennis elbow — while rock climbing that took a year to heal, shot a final-round 6-under 66 to get to 27 under for the week, three shots better than Alison Lee and Nasa Hataoka.
The 34-year-old finished fourth at last week’s The Annika and carried her strong play into the season finale claiming her fifth LPGA title and first since 2019.
World No. 1 Lilia Vu, who finished solo fourth this week, won the Rolex Player of the Year Award. Atthaya Thitikul (solo fifth) won the Vare Trophy, given to the player with the lowest season-long scoring average.
