Oduor seeking to add fresh legs to the Nzoia squad in January

Nzoia Sugar head coach Godfrey Oduor has revealed plans to beef up the team in the mid-season transfer window as one way of beating relegation. The sugar millers are struggling this season for positive results, unlike in the past campaign, where they were unplayable and ended up finishing fourth on the log.Oduor, who succeeded Salim Babu, has found his second stint at the club tough, as the outfit has won two matches and drawn three in the first thirteen rounds of the season.##NAJAVA_MECA_7727560##The poor run places the Bungoma-based club second from bottom with nine points, one ahead of the Muhoroni Youth, who are at the rock bottom of the standings.Oduor told Mozzart Sport that he will look to strengthen all departments when the window opens in January next year.Nzoia lost nearly all of their players who formed the first team last season to their top-flight opponents, who offered better packages. Kenya renews rivalry with Uganda in CECAFA U18 finalsThe exit of the players forced Oduor to bring in more than ten during the off-season transfer window, and it will be interesting to see how many he will sign when the opportunity comes.“I will definitely sign new players in January. All departments need fresh legs,” he briefly said.Oduor, who rejoined Nzoia after leaving KCB, expressed confidence in turning the club’s fortunes around and achieving a respectable finish. The former Kibera Black Stars tactician partly blamed the poor run on the fact that he had limited time for assembling new players and getting them ready for top-flight duties.“We will recover from the slow start. It is not easy when you enter a competition of top-flight calibre with new players. Some didn’t have the experience, but they are showing progress,” expressed Oduor.Nzoia are set to face defending champions Gor Mahia on Saturday at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay.
