Akhulia seeks bounce-back against struggling Sharks

Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia admits that his team’s match against Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday will be tough as they seek to bounce back from last Wednesday’s loss to Tusker FC.United fell 3-1 to the Brewers in a rescheduled league match, and on Sunday, they face a Sharks side that has lost its last five matches and is just three points above the relegation zone at the Police Sacco Grounds. Akhulia’s men are 9th in the log.##NAJAVA_MECA_7744863##Speaking ahead of the game, Akhulia took time to reflect on the loss to Tusker, a game he believes they gifted Robert Matano’s men easy goals.”We let in lousy goals, basically gifted Tusker very easy goals. Two defensive errors and the other a penalty, and that is how we lost the game. It is probably the worst way that we have ever lost a league game,” he told Mozzart Sport.Ahead of the game against Sharks, the Kenya U18 assistant coach acknowledges the task ahead for his team and the need for his team to put on a better show against William Muluya’s men.”It is going to be a hard game, that’s for sure. We lost last time, and psychologically, we may not be in a good position. That is something that our opponents may want to capitalize on, and that means we have to go out there and put in a fight. We have to show our mental fortitude in that game,” he added.Sharks are struggling in the league, but Akhulia does not believe that the current form will play any part in the game and says Sharks remain a solid outfit.”It is dangerous to play a struggling side because they want to win,” he said.”Sharks have always been tough opponents for us. They have won most of the games we have played against them, and it is going to be tough, and players just have to rise to the occasion.”
