Nzoia Sugar FC chairman, Yappets Mokua, has disclosed that the club will be reinforcing their goalkeeping department during the January transfer window due to numerous errors from their goalkeepers. The team currently has four goalkeepers in their ranks: Fredrick Munyendo, Bernard Onunga, Benson Mangala, and Daniel Omuse. Among them, Onunga has featured in most games and committed the most high-profile gaffes, followed by Mangala. Munyendo has not conceded in the two games played, while Omuse saw red two minutes after coming on for his debut against Tusker FC.##NAJAVA_MECA_7759630##Some of the goals allowed by the team have raised eyebrows within football circles, and the club is determined not to take more chances in what will be a challenging second leg. Currently rooted at the bottom of the log, they are striving to avoid relegation.”The goalkeeping department has been our biggest challenge this season. We have conceded goals that cost us games in almost every match, and it is disappointing because most of the time, the players work so hard to win, only to be let down by a goalkeeping error,” Mokua told Mozzart Sport.”We are going to sign two goalkeepers this January. We have to get it right ahead of the second leg because we cannot afford any further gambles in goal. We have identified the keepers that we are going to bring on board, and we are currently engaging with them and their clubs before the window opens so that everything is concluded, and we can register them immediately when the transfer window opens,” he added.Regarding the team’s general transfer plans in the mid-season window, Mokua stated that they will be adding a few more players to the team, as they do not expect to lose any key players in January.”We will have a few more additions to the team, but the goal is to keep improving the players that we have on board. Unlike in the last window, I don’t think that we will lose any players, which is key to our survival plans. We will now bring in a few new players to make the team better.”The Millers are set to travel to Mombasa on 6th January for their first game of 2024.Adikiny dreams big after opening goal account in FKFPL
