Arsenal complains to the Premier League over Saka’s treatment

Last season, Arsenal was at the top of the Premier League for months, and everything looked great. With an eight-point lead, Arsenal were on course to their first Premier League title on April 1, 2023. But the Gunners essentially bottled it with three consecutive draws and a loss against Manchester City and eventually lost the title. But this season, the situation is different, as Mikel Arteta’s team is already fourth at the table, mainly due to their bad December form. At the end of 2023, they managed three out of their four league defeats, as they lost to Aston Villa, West Ham and Fulham while drawing with Liverpool (1-1). And while coach Arteta is analyzing the reasons for such a bad display ahead of the FA clash with Liverpool, the club decided to complain to the Premier League about their star’s treatment!Mikel Arteta on Saka’s response to being fouled (repeatedly): “I think he’s getting used to it! I don’t think that’s going to change, especially the way he plays & the way he attracts players so he better get used to it.”🎥 @HaytersTV pic.twitter.com/WM1kiqN2uy— afcstuff (@afcstuff) November 10, 2023 As reported by Daily Mail, Arsenal have complained to the Premier League’s refereeing body about what they believe to be rough treatment of Bukayo Saka by opponents. The Gunners are arguing that, in their opinion, opponents are free to clatter the winger without an initial punishment in Premier League matches, and they came to that conclusion after an accumulation of incidents directed at Saka. As seen by statistics, Jordan Ayew (117) and Bruno Guimaraes (92) are the two most fouled players in the Premier League, but Crystal Palace and Newcastle never came up with the idea to complain to the league about referees. What is funnier is that Arsenal have said that a referee should issue a yellow card to an offender after the first strong foul on Saka rather than waiting for the second start. It’s not yet known what and when the refereeing body will respond to these claims, but one should monitor the referee’s future behaviour towards Saka. ##NAJAVA_MECA_7781619##
