Kajuba ready for FKF Premier League return after sabbatical

I’ve played in Kenya from the lower divisions, first with Muhoroni Young, and then Vihiga Bullets for whom I also did duty in the top flight premier league,’’ says the left-footed forward.Kajuba made his entry into the country’s club competitions with the youth outfit of Muhoroni Youth FC (christened Muhoroni Young FC) in 2018 who at the time participated in the FKF Division 1 league.He would soon make a quick rise to find himself at Sofapaka in the top flight.“That was a dream come true, moving from division one straight to the premier league,’’ he says. “I was confident that this was it now, I had to prove my worth. But things didn’t go as planned and I had to leave soon.’’Nairobi City Stars’ ace discusses early season’s struggles and future plansReprieve came with an offer to join Vihiga Bullets and even though managing to stay in the top flight, the sorry state of his new club only meant relegation after just one season.Top teams in the premiership had shown interest in roping him in having stood out for the then western-based side but then an unfortunate red tape lay in wait.“I had been approached by Kariobangi Sharks FC and FC Talanta but the latter couldn’t sign me because their budget couldn’t accommodate a foreign player. Basically, it was a rough time for most of the team, not just Talanta. “Financially, teams were at their lowest and could not cater for a foreign player’s accommodation,’’ continues the lad.Kajuba, currently based in his home town Kampala City, turned out 12 times the last time he featured in the Kenyan top flight for Bullets, managing a goal and four assists during the campaign.With the January transfer window currently open, he anticipates a resounding comeback to a competition he deems elite by East African standards.
