Cholo: ‘Number 7, your mother is a c**t’

There is no love lost between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. The big clubs from the same town are heated rivals, and the fact that one is bigger and certainly wealthier and more successful than the other doesn’t help either. But in recent years, there is another separate rivalry, and that is between Vinicius Jr. and Atletico Madrid fans. The Brazilian wizard is playing fantastically, but the behaviour which comes with his plays is something not only Atletico fans are annoyed with. He is the most common ‘enemy’ at stadiums around Spain and is racially abused, which is in no way any excuse for the fans doing that, even though he irritates a lot of people. But he continues to do it regardless, and that was evident in the recent derby in the Spanish Cup, during with he even provoked coach Cholo Simeone to swear at him.Vinicius tried to provoke Diego Simeone by gesturing the number 7 with his fingers.Diego Simeone’s response: “Number seven, your mother’s c*nt.” pic.twitter.com/pucBJeIxk7— Atletico Universe (@atletiuniverse) January 19, 2024 It’s hard to determine exactly who (and when) started first, but in recent years, Atletico fans chanted to Vinicius that he is a monkey (even though there are numerous other black players in both teams) and he replied with goals and statements during and after the match. It was exactly the same in a 4-2 loss in the Cup as his behaviour started from the beginning. He just couldn’t help himself and ‘exploded’ when a ball boy put another ball onto the pitch in an attempt to prevent a quick throw-in. It was not his first time, and unlike Bellingham, who just three one ball out and took the second, the Brazilian winger went over to the referee to protest and got a yellow card. The cup of satisfaction! Atletico’s sweet revenge over city rivalsHe celebrated Real’s equalizer in front of the home crowd, dedicating gestures of maximum joy and rage to the stands. Nacho and Modric had to go and talk to him in order to calm him down, as he practically ‘invited’ all Atletico players to try to get him expelled in the second half. He somehow managed to finish the game without a red card even thou he provoked Argentinian manager Simeone, showing him number seven during the game, to which the Atletico coach was seeing yelling: ‘Number 7, your mother is a cunt’ and got a yellow card himself.LA LIGAFridayAlaves – Cadiz 1-0 (0-0)/Rioja 51/Saturday16.00: (2.00) Rayo Vallecano (3.45) Las Palmas (4.30)18.15: (2.15) Villareal (3.50) Mallorca (3.70)20.30: (3.35) Valencia (3.40) Ath.Bilbao (2.30)23.00: (3.30) Celta (3.15) Sociedad (2.45)Sunday16.00: (2.25) Osasuna (3.20) Getafe (3.70)18.15: (1.15) Real Madrid (8.00) Almeria (16.0)20.30: (4.50) Betis (3.60) Barcelona (1.90)23.00: (1.75) Girona (3.60) Sevilla (4.90)Monday23.00: (5.10) Granada (3.60) Atl.Madrid (1.73)***odds are subject to change
