Three clubs thirsting for Morgan Alube’s signature after severing ties with Naivas FC

Days after ending his union with National Super League (NSL) leaders Naivas FC, goalkeeper Morgan Alube is a man on demand with three clubs plying trade in the top tier and second tier expressing interest in his services. The former Chemilil Youth custodian joined the retailers at the start of the 2023-2024 campaign from Vihiga United now Mulembe United but, had to wait longer on the sidelines to make his debut with the club after picking up a knee injury that kept him out of action for close to a year.##NAJAVA_MECA_7828753##The seasoned shot-stopper’s maiden appearance came in their 2-1 defeat to Kibera Black Stars two weeks ago.Alube, who was widely used as an attacker last season with Vihiga, told Mozzart Sport of the offers lying on his table.Among the teams actively jostling for his signature are Muhoroni Youth, Nzoia Sugar and a return to Mulembe United is also on the cards.Muhoroni have been searching for more options in goal after the exit of experienced goalkeepers Ezekiel Owade, Tom Muthomi, and Ugandan Michael Kagiri. The Got Alila-based club has since roped in former Gusii FC custodian Larry Potter. Nzoia’s problems this term are perceived to have been mainly attributed to their goalkeeping department which has leaked 30 goals in 19 games. The club has since parted ways with offseason signings Benard Onunga and Daniel Omuse leaving them with fewer options in Fredrick Munyendo and Ben Mangala.Vihiga United goalkeeper Morgan Alube opens up on being played as strikerOn the other hand, Mulembe United are in dire need of a seasoned netminder following the exits of Joel Makambo and Peter Madala.“I have three offers on the table but I have not made a decision yet,” offered the former Kisumu Youth Olympic man.He, however, noted that he won’t rush into making a move as he is still digesting the events leading to his dismissal from the retailers and the treatment he was accorded in his last days at the club.“I not going to rush, I am still coming to terms with what transpired before I was axed after a week then I can announce my next stop but I favor a move back to the Premier League,” said the custodian who in the 2018-2019 season was named in the Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) for the goalkeeper of the season award.Naivas have since moved on from the union with the acquisition of former Luanda Villa man Elix Otieno who made his debut in the retailer’s 2-0 win over Vihiga Bullets on Thursday.Ange backs Mathare to secure automatic promotion to the FKF Premier League.
