AIK reveal plan to sign Kenyan youngster Stanley Wilson after impressing in trials

The shine on Stanley Wilson seems to be well on course to lofty heights after recent revelations by AIK Fotboll Sporting Director Thomas Bernsten in regards to the Kenyan youngster’s showing in training camp, pointed towards him being a future club signing.Speaking to Swedish publication Aftonbladet on Thursday, Bernsten, 53, after watching Wilson take part in a couple of training sessions in Marbella, Spain where he is on trials, said that he “was so much impressed” in him, adding that he wants to sign him at AIK “as soon as he is 18.”Currently 17, Wilson, a midfielder for FKF Premier League club Kariobangi Sharks, has caught eyes at AIK’s 12-day preseason camp, not least with on-site journalist Thor Sundberg.“The first thing that strikes you when you watch Wilson play football is his mature way of playing,” Sundberg wrote on “The Marbella blog” on Thursday. “Despite the fact that he barely had time to get to know his teammates and has trained three sessions with them, he usually finds his teammates with the ball.Bra snack på Berntsen i Aftonbladet med Disco. Öppenheten, än en gång, wow!- Gono vill vi ha nu, skall skrivas kontrakt med honom på lägret om inget oförutsett händer. – Stanley har imponerat så pass att Berntsen vill värva honom också (när han är 18 år).(1/5)— Andreas Ferm (@fermandreas) February 1, 2024 “Most often, it is with relatively simple passes that do not cut through team members. With these passes, Wilson contributes a fluidity to the game that can lead to AIK being able to hold the ball for longer periods.”Another key quality that has made him “look several seconds ahead” as per Sundberg, is his ability to know where and who to pass when he gets the ball.“The receptions of the ball and his eye for the game are of a high rank for his young age,” he added.”Dream come true” : Wilson delights in maiden Harambee Stars call-upThe club this window was expected to sign one to two players; “priority revolving around a center back and a left defender – Liberian Emmanuel Gono” as per Fotboll Direkt. With Wilson’s first days at AIK only being matched by Lamine Fanne – who has also highly impressed in camp – it looks highly likely that he could join fellow Kenyans Collins Sichenje and Henry Meja in the Allsvenskan.##NAJAVA_MECA_7845510##
