Henry about Klopp’s departure: ’Good for you’

Almost a month has passed since Jurgen Klopp announced his departure from Liverpool come May 2024, but he is still the subject. After basically everyone commented on his departure from England and coaching (at least for a while), now it’s the ‘second wave’ or comments, and they are mainly focused the coaches and pressure. Because, just after Klopp, we witnessed Xavi’s sudden resignation from Barcelona. And it seems that the ‘pressure’ is the key word in both cases. Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry commented on Klopp’s decision and gave his thoughts about the situation.Jurgen-Wan Kenobi – Disney + to broadcast Klopp’s last months in Liverpool“I understand that it’s very nice for fans and everybody involved, journalists, but do not think only about yourself and thinking that the Premier League will miss Klopp, that Liverpool will miss Klopp. We know that, we know that is true. But he was missing his family, he was missing his own time, he was missing his sanity. So good for him. When I got the news, I was like: ‘Good for you” said the Frenchman to the CBS Sports.Thierry Henry reveals he had depression throughout his playing careerHenry went on to explain that the coaches are under enormous pressure and that no one thinks about that, giving example of three great managers.“Pep was at Barcelona, took a sabbatical year. Klopp is at Liverpool, is stopping. Xavi is at Barcelona, he is also stopping. Three great clubs. That’s a dream job normally and they are stopping. That tells you a story. The pressure, everybody has a voice, social media and whatnot. It is tough to be a manager and no one cares about you. You’re going to have to take care of yourself at one point” he explained.Henry: ‘Crying was impossible, I cried alone, and struggled not to break down’For years since he became a coach, Henry has preached the importance of mental health. He often gave his own example when talking about being healthy in the head.“Crying was impossible. You couldn’t show your weaknesses. It was: ”Thierry, don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t cry!” It happened to me to cry, alone, but I struggled not to break down. Now I cry. When I was a player, Arsene Wenger brought a shrink to Arsenal but I had trouble going to see him. I said to myself: I play football, why go there? But it’s important because you have to be in pedagogy, more than in tactics. You have to know how to talk to the players, that they are well in their head“ explained Henry once.UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE1/8 finalsTuesday the 13thCopenhagen – Man.City 1-3 (1-2)/Mattsson 34 – De Bruyne 10, Silva 45+1, Foden 90+3/RB Leipzig – Real Madrid 0-1 (0-0)/Diaz 49/Wednesday the 14th23:00: (1.68) PSG (3.70) Sociedad (5.40)23:00: (6.25) Lazio (4.10) Bayern (1.55)Tuesday the 20th23:00: (2.00) Inter (3.40) Atl.Madrid (3.90)23:00: (2.15) PSV (3.45) Dortmund (3.35)Wednesday the 21st23:00: (4.10) Porto (3.50) Arsenal (1.90)23:00: (2.70) Napoli (3.35) Barcelona (2.60)***odds are subject to change***
