The PGA Tour is on to Florida.
The 2024 Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches is the first stop of four in the state of Florida, located in Palm Beach Gardens at PGA National. Chris Kirk, who won the season-opening The Sentry in Hawaii, is the defending tournament champion. Twenty-twelve winner Rory McIlroy, fresh off his victory in Monday’s The Match, and 2017 victor Rickie Fowler are also in the field, along with Matt Fitzpatrick, Tom Kim, Min Woo Lee, Shane Lowry and others.
PGA National’s The Champion course is a par-71 layout measuring 7,147 yards. The Champion ranks No. 7 in Florida on Golfweek’s Best list of public-access courses in each state, and it ties for No. 69 on the list of top resort courses in the U.S.
The purse at the Cognizant Classic is $9 million with $1.62 million going to the winner. The winner will also receive 500 FedEx Cup points.
