Ruiru Hotstars are expected to announce award-winning and former FC Talanta midfielder Anthony Gicho as their new head coach, Mozzart Sport has learned. This follows the resignation of Suleiman Ngotho under unclear circumstances ending his three-year stay with the Football Kenya Federation Division One team despite an improbable run that has the club move to second and in promotion brackets.##NAJAVA_MECA_7898957##Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Ruiru Hot Stars team manager George Maina confirmed the departure of Ngotho at the same time affirming the elevation of Gicho who was working under the former Posta Rangers center-back.Gicho gave up on playing football at the competitive level last year due to an ankle injury he picked up in December 2021 while in action for Talanta against Posta Rangers at the Thika Stadium.Gicho belatedly went under the knife in October 2022 after pooling resources and was initially ruled out for three months but constant pain forced him to hang the boots and venture into coaching. The 2020/2021 National Super League (NSL) midfielder of the year is now bestowed with the responsibility of guiding the Sahara Energy-powered club to the second tier after numerous attempts.“Coach Ngotho is no longer with us and we respect his decision to leave the club in his place the club has appointed Gichio and we believe he is the right man to lead the club,” said Maina.“The two have been working together and we believe they share the same ideologies when it comes to coaching and that’s what prompted the management to settle on him. We also noticed that Gicho commands respect in the dressing room, we can see the interaction and the urge in players to fight for him and the badge,” added the club administrator.Talanta Stadium construction inches closer amid AFCON 2027 preparationsMeanwhile, the departing Ngotho has confirmed receiving offers from a host of NSL clubs though the former Thika United man won’t be in a hurry for a return to the dugout.“I have received offers from NSL sides but I am not in a hurry to select my next home, I will be taking a rest and later decide what is good for me,” said Ngotho.Gichio’s next task with the Ruiru-based club will be on Saturday against league new entrants Spitfire at the Sina Makosa stadium in EastleighSt. Anthony’s, Laiser lead nominees for SOYA schools award
