The 2024 Puerto Rico Open is the first opposite-field event on the PGA Tour’s season, with a field of 132 golfers who didn’t qualify for the 69-man signature event, the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
After 36 holes in Puerto Rico, Joe Highsmith leads the way. The winner of this tournament gets $720,000, a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour and a spot in next week’s Players Championship, if he’s not already in the field for TPC Sawgrass.
Those who didn’t make the weekend at the Grand Reserve Golf Club got a free weekend to do some sight-seeing or an early flight home.
There were 72 golfers who made the weekend but the cut came in at 4 under and left some notable names out of the weekend fun.
