Salim Babu to lead Kenya U20 team in Malawi

Kenya U18 coach Salim Babu will be in charge of the Kenya U20 team that will travel to Malawi for a four-nation tournament during the international break, Mozzart Sport can report.Babu led the Junior Stars to a second-place finish during the CECAFA U18 Championship held in Kenya in December 2023 and was hailed for the attractive football that the team played throughout the tournament. He is yet to taste defeat since he was named as the law enforcers’ coach at the start of the year, and he has since stabilized what was an inconsistent Police team.Kenya is set to play Zimbabwe, Zambia, and hosts Malawi in a four-nations tournament during the March international break. The senior team, Harambee Stars, will also be in action against the senior sides of the four nations, with all the countries preparing themselves for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers that will resume in June.Babu’s appointment is an indicator that the players who turned out for the U18 team could form a bulk of the U20 team, which is set to be named anytime soon.
