Hussein will attend the AGM – Murang’a Seal insists

Murang’a Seal insists that their Vice Chairman, Hussein Mohammed, will attend the federation’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for Saturday. This comes after FKF, through a letter by Secretary General Barry Otieno, notified the club that Hussein, their chosen representative, is not a recognized member of the federation and thus ineligible to attend. However, Murang’a Seal’s Chairman, Robert Macharia, remains adamant that Hussein will indeed represent the club at the AGM. Macharia stated, “FKF asked for a representative for the AGM, and ours is Hussein Mohammed, the Vice Chairman. It’s not up to them to decide who represents us.” FKF presidential candidate locked out of AGMMacharia emphasized that club licensing records are irrelevant to the AGM and expressed frustration with FKF’s attempt to intervene.”Club Licensing records have nothing to do with the AGM. I have communicated directly with Barry and informed him to exercise courtesy. We, Murang’a Seal, have responded officially and made our stance clear. Mr. Hussein Mohammed is our representative for the AGM and he will attend,” Macharia added.##NAJAVA_MECA_7938673##He further stressed, “Even if we decide to send a random flower girl from Murang’a or anyone else to the AGM on Saturday, FKF cannot stop that as long as whoever attends has a letter of authority from the club.”Macharia said that there are far much bigger issues facing Kenyan football annd they should be the focus of the AGM. “We have bigger issues to address in regards to what is ailing Kenyan football and that should be the focus for the AGM, not micromanaging clubs,” he commented. It’s time to clean Kenya’s football. pic.twitter.com/OMBYqooRU7— Robert Macharia (@mashfa1) October 10, 2023 The attempt by FKF to block Hussein’s attendance is viewed by many as a political move ahead of the federation’s upcoming elections in October. Although Hussein Mohammed has not officially declared his candidacy, there is speculation among Kenyan football enthusiasts that he may run for the presidency.Meanwhile, uncertainty looms over the incumbent, Nick Mwendwa’s potential candidacy, and FKF’s choice of presidential candidate following the recent ruling by the Sports Registrar barring the current administration from seeking reelection.
