10 of the best players at the Players Championship over the last 5 seasons

The best players in the world have made their way to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, for the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.

World No. 1 and defending champion Scottie Scheffler switched from a blade putter to a mallet last week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and earned the second red cardigan of his career. If his new-found confidence on the greens carries over to the PGA Tour’s flagship event, it could spell trouble for the rest of the field.

Some of the players teeing it up come Thursday include 2019 champion Rory McIlroy, 2021 winner Justin Thomas, Max Homa, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, Viktor Hovland and Jordan Spieth.
