Despite failing to collect maximum points in the last seven Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) matches, Muhoroni Youth goalkeeper Larry Potter Okatch is adamant the team will soon find the shooting boots and escape the relegation jaws.Muhoroni Youth, who rebranded from Wazito at the start of the season, have found the going tough for the better part of the campaign sitting in a familiar territory they were last season, grappling with relegation fears.##NAJAVA_MECA_7958513##Under the tutelage of former APS Bomet gaffer Charles Odera, Muhoroni finds themselves with four wins, 10 draws, and a similar number of defeats after 24 matches, a performance that leaves them 16th on the eighteen-team table, four points above the drop zone.Okatch, who is part of the seven players who were promoted from the youth side Muhoroni Young in the mid-season transfer window, told Mozzart Sport that the team was working tirelessly during the international break to arrest the fault form and work towards achieving the season’s targets which is a top ten finish.”We will bounce back from the poor form. We are doing everything possible to get back on a winning track that will set the pace for more wins in the coming days,” he said. The former Gusii FC custodian, who is out with an injury after involvement in a road accident earlier last month, further revealed that a lapse in performance is due to the huge number of incomings at the club that are yet to gel and fit into their system but acknowledged the technical bench role in shaping the newcomers.Larry Okatch completes ‘dream’ move to Muhoroni YouthMuhoroni signed more than fifteen players in January after senior jugglers ditched the club for greener pastures. The 21-year-old netminder also added that lack of goals has been the team’s main undoing but confided that the technical bench was working with the forwards to have them perfect in the final third before the league resumption.”The team brought in a lot of players and it hasn’t been easy to gel. The club has done some impressive signings and once the team chemistry clicks, we will do well,” offered Larry.“We have struggled to score in recent matches and the coaches are obviously very concerned. The strikers are now being sharpened and hopefully after the international break we will have them bang goals and win matches,” he added.Okatch, who is in his first season in the top league, said the circuit is more interesting as compared to the lower leagues that he has featured in as it allows him to develop as a player. The ex-Malindi Progressive man further appreciated Muhoroni’s management and his family for the support accorded in enabling the rookie to settle well in the top flight despite the tender age.“Playing in the Premier League is a bit different to the NSL and the other lower divisions. All the players at the top level are good and there’s limited pressure, if you are patient enough and follow the coach’s instructions then it is easy to be at the top,’” said the goalkeeper who is looking up Gor Mahia’s Gad Mathew.”We have a strong team that has patrolled the FKFPL for some time with proper support and a conducive working environment this team can win the championship in the coming seasons,” he concluded.Sylvia Wasilwa: Juggling goals on and off the field at Equity BankAfter the international break, Muhoroni will have a chance to redeem themselves against Nairobi City Stars at home.
