AUGUSTA, Ga. — TV ratings for the PGA Tour have not been great so far in 2024.
Cue the Masters and Augusta National and all the best players finally competing against each other once again.
ESPN, which has the TV rights to the first two rounds of the 2024 Masters, reported Friday that its Thursday TV coverage averaged 3.2 million viewers.
That makes it ESPN’s best Thursday viewership in nine years.
It’s also a jump of 28 percent from last year’s first round. The golf came on ESPN at 3 p.m. ET and the network reports that the audience peaked at 3.8 million in the 6:15 p.m. ET quarter hour.
