AFC Leopards’ 60th Anniversary: Committee mobilized over 18 Million Shillings

Ingwe at 60 committee managed to mobilize over Ksh. 18 million for the celebrations to mark the club’s 60th anniversary.The biggest contributor was the Head of State, President William Ruto, who donated Ksh. 10 million, with Sports CS Ababu Namwamba and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja each giving Ksh. 2 million.##NAJAVA_MECA_8072956##The committee was formed following the National Executive Committee’s resolution to establish a team responsible for planning and overseeing AFC Leopard’s 60th-anniversary celebrations. Vincent Shimoli chaired the committee, with other members including: club patron Alexander Muteshi, the club CEO Albert Wesonga who served as the secretary, Frankline Imbenzi, Martin Mulwenge, Hosea Kisienya, Victor Milimu, Fredrick Akali, Kingsley Litali, Josek Asikoye, Yvonne Khamati, and Norah Lukosi. NEC members served as ex-officio members of the committee. The Ingwe at 60 committee had several sub-committees: Resource Mobilization, Media and Publicity, Entertainment, and Security.AFC Leopards’ 60th-anniversary celebration on 24 March 2024 was held at Nyayo Stadium with the Head of State, Dr. William Ruto, in attendance as the Chief Guest. A large contingent of A.E Ramassa from Barcelona, Spain, also attended. Several other activities took place during the month-long anniversary celebration, including an official Statehouse visit after an invitation from President Ruto. A team led by Ingwe@60 chairman Shimoli and Patron Muteshi visited the President through Sports CS Ababu Namwamba.On 12 March, the club visited the home of the founding father, Israel Mutoka, in Shauri Moyo Estate, Nairobi. Several CSR activities were conducted at Shangilia Mtoto wa Africa Children’s Home in Kitusuru, Wamo Care Academy in Kawangware, and Nile Road Special School in Makadara. Blue and White pomp as AFC Leopards commemorates 60 years in existenceAFC Leopards also held an Inter-branches Tournament at Jericho’s Camp Toyoyo, where the Friends of Leopards branch emerged victorious in the football tournament, Eastlands Branch won the Tug of War competition, and Lynn Kotolo was the champion in the Musical Chairs competition.The Resource Mobilization sub-committee managed to raise a total of Kenya Shillings 18,856,000 (Eighteen Million, Eight Hundred and Fifty-Six Thousand Only).
