Taylor Pendrith’s consecutive eagles, Jake Knapp’s patience among third-round takeaways from 2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson

McKINNEY, Texas — Sunday could be a wild one in Dallas.

After the third round of the 2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson, it’s Taylor Pendrith on top of the leaderboard after a stellar round Saturday at TPC Craig Ranch that included consecutive eagles. However, second-round leader Jake Knapp is only one shot behind and will join Pendrith in the final pairing after a strong finish.

However, there are other players lurking, and Sunday’s weather forecast could bring a lot of others into contention if conditions become difficult at the normally getable course.

Birdies have been plenty attainable all week, however, so perhaps someone will go low and claim a win come Sunday. And who can forget Kris Kim, the 16-year-old amateur, and how he continues to perform in his first Tour start.
