Ksh 10 Million or more enough to get Nzoia Sugar back to FKFPL

Sponsorship worth ten million shillings will be enough to steer Nzoia Sugar back to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.Nzoia’s fate is almost sealed as a draw in their next game against Nairobi City Stars will send them to the National Super League.Their run in the current campaign contrasts that of last season where the outfit finished in the top-four bracket.Unfortunately, the club lost sixteen players and coach Salim Babu, who joined the Kenya Police technical bench.##NAJAVA_MECA_8103451##Even before the unfortunate is confirmed, the club’s top brass has already rolled up their sleeves in readiness for life in the second tier.Club chairman Yappets Mokua says the team is actively looking for an external source of funding in a bid to ensure an immediate return to the top flight.Nzoia heavily relies on its parent company for funds but given the struggles local sugar industries have been grappling with in recent years, the club’s accounts are barely dry.“If we secure sponsorship worth ten million shillings or more, then I can guarantee that we will be promoted next season. We are knocking on the doors of potential sponsors and hopefully we will strike a deal with one before the start of next season. The plan is to play in the second tier for a single season,” he told Mozzart Sport.Mokua, who was the club boss in 2016 when Nzoia returned to the top tier, said he was mulling assembling the personnel that delivered the automatic ticket eight years ago.The administrator said, finances allowing, the club will retain their best players and beef up the technical bench by bringing some of the backroom staff that won the Super League in 2016.The Bungoma-based club gained promotion under the tutelage of Bernard Mwalala.“If we managed to secure promotion in 2016, we definitely can do it in the new season. The second tier was extremely competitive back then but we managed to win the league. If we get a sponsor, retain players and beef up the squad and technical bench, we will make it,” he stated.
