This was the biggest public secret in the all Italian football – Thiago Motta to Juventus. And today the second of the three needed steps have happened – the higly acclaimed young strategist has informed Bologna that he will leave the club at the end of the season. The first step was made by Juventus last week, when they sacked Massimiliano Allegri and now they need to make the thrid and the last one – to agree a deal with Motta. The Torino giants were expected to part ways mutually with Allegri but after his outburst in the Coppa Italia final they decided to sack him, and now risk a potential lawsuit from the coach. Whatever happens, it won‘t be any obstacle for Juventus to agree the deal with Motta, which is now expected to happen sooner than later. #ThiagoMotta ⏳⚪️⚫️ pic.twitter.com/jfBncxZHWJ— Romeo Agresti (@romeoagresti) May 23, 2024 Bologna officially announced that the young coach, who made a historical success with the club by qualifying them for the Champions League told them he won‘t renew his contract. “This morning Thiago Motta communicated to the Club his intention not to renew his contract with Bologna FC 1909. Having taken note of the decision, the Club thanks the coach for the extraordinary work done and wishes him the best luck for the rest of his career“ reads the statement from the club. Allegri – Juve split could end up in courtAs per reports, Bologna owner tried to keep Motta by promising around 100 million euros of investment in the next three years and no big player sales, but the former PSG player said that technical director Sartori and sporting director Di Vaio failed to bring any of the players he wanted in January and asked to have the last word on all future transfers. Whether it was a true or a deliberate request in order to stop the negotiations it worked, as he is now free to go to Juventus. Mota’s arrival in Turin represents a definite turnaround from the previous Juventus management led by Andrea Agnelli. Across his 75 matches in charge of the Rossoblu, the 41-year-old tactician won 35 matches, drew 23 and lost 17, averaging 1.71 points per game. ##NAJAVA_MECA_8117932##
