FORT WORTH, Texas — While the renovation of Colonial Country Club was the big talk amongst players prior to the opening round of the Charles Schwab Challenge, the focus returned squarely to golf on Thursday as play began at the storied club.

Scottie Scheffler, who came out looking more favorable after video footage was released that showed he stopped when a Louisville police officer approached him and didn’t appear to drag the office as previously reported, was back in action and thankfully so.

But Charley Hoffman was the name atop the leaderboard at the end of play.
