On Saturday, the PGA Tour announced Grayson Murray passed away at the young age of 30. Murray was playing in this week’s 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, before withdrawing near the end of his second round Friday, citing an illness.
Murray was a two-time winner on the Tour, hoisting trophies at the 2017 Barbasol Championship and earlier this season at the 2024 Sony Open. In 140 career Tour starts, he finished inside the top 10 on 10 occasions.
Messages of support for Murray’s family quickly flooded social media as the surprising news of his sudden passing came as a shock.
