Rafa Nadal gave an insight into his fitness struggles following his first-round exit at the French Open, admitting his body was ‘like a jungle’. The 14-time Roland Garros champion said, ‘You don’t know what to expect. I wake up one day and I find a snake biting me [and] another day a tiger. It has been a big fight with all the things that I went through.’ Nadal added that he hopes to play at the Olympics but could not guarantee he would take part. He spoke of the fun he still felt competing and insisted that he didn’t want to stop until he knew for certain he would no longer remain competitive.
