Former Kisumu All Stars marksman Seth Oyugi’s foray into the lower tiers hasn’t been eventful for the once free-scoring forward and he wants back.Currently in the books of FKF Division 2 side Delmonte FC, Oyugi’s thirsty for top level football and has vowed to make his way back up at the end of the 2013/24 season.”I went to Delmonte briefly after leaving Kisumu All Stars but only played in the first leg of the season for the side. I’d say this was just a difference of expectations as to why I eventually left the side,” reveals the forward.Mohammed Bajaber ready for the next step after stellar season with City StarsDropping two divisions down indicated- for him- a chance at a fresh start, but not with the challenges he admits to facing there.”It is a good club with good management. Personally, I just wanted to play football and help the team up, but that was not the case. The club offers work opportunities for players where we tend to the company’s farms during the day and train in the evenings. It’s a way of earning, nothing against it, but I just wanted to focus on my football,’’ continues Oyugi.The striker, who first started out with Bondo United in Div 2 in 2017, had a meteoric rise over the past few years- being roped in by then Div 1 side Kisumu Hot Stars.A splendid first leg performance for Hot Stars- including emerging top scorer with 8 goals, had Kisumu All Stars sign him for their National Super League (NSL) assignments. He would be part of the promotion-earning All Stars team and had his first premier league experience here too.##NAJAVA_MECA_8130524##Eventually leaving All Stars he admits, was necessary for growth. Playing time had diminished and coupled with the team’s management crises, he and a few others sought fresher challenges in a bid to revive their careers.Felix Ouma, currently manning the sticks for top of the NSL log Mara Sugar FC and Willis Otenda were some of the exits at All Stars when he left.”We had to go out and seek other challenges,’’ he says. “I think some of my former teammates are doing well in their respective teams. I also aim to bounce back soon. The few years of experience I’ve garnered, I believe, will come in handy,’’Oyugi trains with Vapor Sports, another Div 2 side based in Kawangware and despite having been implored by the team’s management to sign, he just cannot, yet.‘’I am still contracted with Delmonte so the season will have to end first if I am to consider signing for another team. In the upcoming pre-season however, I will put my best foot forward and try my luck with other teams,’’ he adds.The marksman has also featured for Muhoroni Youth during a brief 6-month sojourn with the now premier league side in 2022.Adagala optimistic Muhoroni Youth will escape relegation
