Kariobangi Sharks defender Steve Biko on Wednesday 5 June took the noble step of returning back to his roots, and this time, to make a difference.This is after the former Green Commandos player, in collaboration with leading gaming firm Mozzart Bet, made the journey to Awendo Football Academy in Migori, where he donated football equipment.The act, which saw him deliver among others: football kits, balls, cones, soccer boots and corner flags, was brought to actualization after Biko had been awarded a Ksh. 100,000 humanitarian cheque for his man-of-the-match performance in Kariobangi Sharks’ 1-0 win over SS Assad in the Mozzart Bet Cup quarter-finals.A trip back to the place he called home, felt befitting.“I am very happy today because I have come back home and provided sporting equipment which I hope will help everyone here for the time being,” Biko, who is a product of Awendo Football Academy said. “This is a very unique academy. I was in Class Three when I joined this place and I can say that the journey here with the coaches and players has been good.
