EXCLUSIVE: Gor Mahia Chairman Ambrose Rachier summoned over non-payment of former coach Francis Nuttall

Gor Mahia Chairman Ambrose Rachier has been summoned to appear before the Employment and Labour Relations Court in Nairobi on July 18, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. to show cause why he should not be jailed for failing to pay the club’s former coach, Francis Nuttall, compensation for wrongful termination as per the court rulings, Mozzart Sport exclusively reveals.Nuttall departed Gor Mahia in 2016 to become the assistant coach to Alex McLeish at Zamalek. His resignation from Gor Mahia was driven by frustrations with the club’s management.##NAJAVA_MECA_8152605##According to court documents obtained by Mozzart Sport, Nuttall alleged that in November 2015, the management attempted to alter his contract by proposing a 50% pay cut instead of the 10% annual increment stipulated in his contract.The club reportedly informed him that he had to accept the pay cut or face contract termination.In early February 2016, Nuttall made a counteroffer to the proposed pay cut, which was rejected by Gor Mahia.The club proceeded to terminate his contract on February 6, 2016. Furthermore, Nuttall described intolerable working conditions, including inadequate transport arrangements that sometimes forced him to use motorbikes.As a result, Nuttall took legal action, seeking compensation for unpaid housing allowance (Ksh. 1,440,000), car allowance (Ksh. 3,360,000), air tickets for himself and his family (Ksh. 810,000 + Ksh. 3,195,489), various bonuses, medical cover (Ksh. 1,049,000), salary in lieu (Ksh. 770,000), compensation for the remainder of his contract (Ksh. 10,000,000), a laptop (Ksh. 100,000), and damages (Ksh. 1,000,000).In a judgment issued on March 20, 2023, by Judge B.O.M.
