PINEHURST, N.C. — When Wyndham Clark sounded an alarm early this week that the greens at the 2024 U.S. Open were “borderline,” nearly every following interview included a question about the conditions at Pinehurst No. 2.
Open contestants were met with acres of sandy scrub, and additional wiregrass was planted in the sandscapes just off the fairways for this U.S. Open, adding even more intrigue as any ball bounds off the firm but ample fairways.
