After a 4-over 74 Thursday, Tiger Woods will need something around even par on Friday if he hopes to play the weekend at the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina. Woods, who missed the cut last month at the PGA Championship, is playing alongside Will Zalatoris and 2022 U.S. Open winner Matt Fitzpatrick.
“It’s hard to get the ball close. In most golf courses you play, you hit shots into where it’s feeding off of slopes into flags, whereas collecting,” Woods said Thursday afternoon. “Here everything is repelling. It’s just hard to get the ball on top of the shelves.”
