Harambee Stars to begin quest for COSAFA glory with clash against record winners Zambia

Harambee Stars will launch their bid to clinch the COSAFA tournament with a clash against Zambia on June 27 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in South Africa.Stars landed the invite to grace the tournament after Malawi withdrew in honour of their late Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima.This will be the second time Stars will be gracing the tournament having debuted in the 2013 edition where they were eliminated in the pool matches.##NAJAVA_MECA_8167923##Kenya is in pool B of the showpiece alongside Chipolopolo, Comoros, and Zimbabwe who are returning to the tournament for the first time since 2021.After the clash against Zambia, Stars will face Comoros on June 30 at the Wolfson Stadium.Odhiambo names Harambee Stars U23 squad for COSAFA CupKennedy Odhiambo’s charges will wrap up the group stage action against Zimbabwe on July 2 at the same venue.Zambia are the most successful country in the tournament having won it seven times and heads to South Africa hoping to retain the cup.Kenya was earlier planning to return to the CECAFA Senior Challenge that was to be jointly hosted by Zanzibar and Tanzania.The tournament was however canceled but the regional body has confirmed that the CECAFA Kagame Cup will go on as planned.Michael Olunga provides positive update on MOFA plans to seal Eskilstuna takeoverStars head coach Engin Firat was initially expected to name senior players but the Turkish tactician will not be involved.Instead, his assistants; Odhiambo and William Muluya will take charge.Earlier in the day, Odhiambo named a squad largely made up by players in the U23 age bracket.
