Bandari FC head John Baraza has decried the effects that injuries have caused his side. He has had a number of key players from his side suffer injuries in the course of the campaign, and the coach now attributes them to his recent struggles. The former Kenyan international was speaking after yesterday’s match against Kenya Police FC, which ended in a goalless draw at the Police Sacco stadium. The coach gave his opinion and verdict on the team’s performance this season in general as we head to the last game of the campaign. “We played well in a tough away match, which we would have won. I don’t like speaking about match officials, but something (the penalty incident) happened, and when I reached out after the match, he said that people are humans and can make mistakes. Because I am also human, I understood him.” On Bandari’s poor run of form in the past few months that has seen them go winless in nine matches and over 100 days without a win, “We have had so many injuries to some of our key players this season. Some were out for as long as 10 months, and that really disoriented us. A player like Shariff Majabe has been out for so long. Derrick Nsibambi has had a dislocated shoulder that has equally kept him out for long, but at least they are now back.”##NAJAVA_MECA_8167929##Baraza went on to attribute those injuries to their fall from title contention. According to the coach, those players used to start matches, and so their absence affected the team negatively, even though people outside the team could not understand. It then spoilt what would have otherwise been a fulfilling season for the dockers. “I would say that those injuries are what have affected us this season because, at some point, we were in contention for the title, but we drifted away when our players suffered from those injuries.” Up next for Bandari is an away game on the last game of the season against the Kariobangi Sharks, and Baraza says that he will be going for a win that would see them take 4 points from Nairobi to Mombasa.
