Jack Draper has claimed arguably the biggest victory of his career by beating the top seed and defending champion, Carlos Alcaraz, at Queen’s Club. The 22-year-old, who is the new British No 1 after winning his maiden ATP title in Stuttgart last week, stunned the reigning Wimbledon champion 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.
Alcaraz, who also won the French Open earlier this month, had not lost in seven weeks and was last beaten on grass nearly two years ago. Draper moves on to the quarter-finals, where he will face American Tommy Paul.
