Spain in trouble due to Yamal’s age?

There are no legal bounds for Lamine Yamal to play for the Spanish national team. Not only the Barcelona gem is the youngest player in the EURO 2024, but his displays are a joy to watch. So far, he started both games and pleased his coach Luis de la Fuente. In a 3-0 win against Croatia, he assisted for the third goal (Carvajal) and also played his part in a 1-0 win over current European champion Italy. But, that last win could get Spain in trouble in the future games, due to the laws in Germany.Lamine’s virtues – passing and dribbling; Lamine’s flaws – maths and historyThe hosting country has, like any other country, certain laws and one of them is the German youth protection law. Public broadcaster ZDF cites that according to that law, minors are not allowed to work after 21h (Nairobi time). Since Yamal is still only 16 (he will be 17 on July 13th), and the game against Croatia started at 22h, he was on the field when he was not supposed to be. There is an exemption of this for athletes, who are authorized to work until midnight. But the “work” extends beyond the 90 minutes of the match: it also includes showering and media activities, until the players leave the stadium. The highschool sorrows of young Lamine YamalAccording to this rules, Yamal certainly left the stadium after midnight,so Spain could face a fine of 30,000 euros from the round of 16. As for Spain’s last game, its on Monday 24th at 22h, so there is a possibility that Yamal will break the law again if he plays. But likely for Red Fury, he might not get involved, since Spain is already into the Round of 16. On the other hand, Spain might not be even punished at all, since the law hasn’t been applied for sportsmen yet.EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP – GROUP STAGESunday 22.00: (5.00) Switzerland (3.70) Germany (1.80)22.00: (2.95) Scotland (3.50) Hungary (2.50)Monday 22.00: (7.50) Albania (4.40) Spain (1.45)22.00: (3.05) Croatia (3.45) Italy (2.45)***odds are subject to change***
