Get well soon! Former Spurs’ and Magpies’ Algerian suffers cardiac arrest

The Algerian, Nabil Bentaleb, suffered a cardiac arrest last week. The 29-year-old didn’t even realise what was going on with him, thinking it was some form of illness. Upon arriving at the hospital, his condition worsened, and the doctors even had to use a defibrillator along with a cardiac massage in order to save Bentaleb’s life, as per RMC Sport. The same source states that the Algerian needed surgery and that he had to be fitted with a pacemaker.Thoughts and prayers with former #thfc midfielder Nabil Bentaleb, who is currently in hospital after having a heart attack. 🙏❤️ pic.twitter.com/SvKioMjAvb— Spurs Army (@SpursArmyTweets) June 19, 2024 His condition is stable at the moment, but his further football career has been put into question. The player himself considers retiring, but the French Football Federation (FFF) also has a voice in when it comes to Bentaleb’s future playing in Ligue 1. His current club, Lille, made an official statement on its website.”Hospitalized since last Tuesday at Lille University Hospital, Nabil Bentaleb has since carried out several examinations and health checks which have been reassuring. The LOSC midfielder is still under observation in hospital but could return home during the week. The Club is delighted with this reassuring news that it is able to communicate today and will naturally continue to provide all its support in this ordeal, to Nabil and his loved ones. LOSC and Nabil would like to thank everyone who provided the many expressions of support.”##NAJAVA_MECA_8180809##Bentaleb joined the French side last August and is under contract until 2026.
