Gor Mahia ready for CAF Champions League, no pending FIFA cases says Team Manager Victor Nyaoro

Gor Mahia are well prepared for their CAF Champions League campaign and will not find themselves in a quagmire as they did last year, according to Team Manager Victor Nyaoro. The 21-time Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) champions failed to participate in this season’s tournament after being banned by CAF for breaching club licensing rules. This was due to money owed to former players Adama Keita, Sando Yangayay, and Jules Ulimwengu, who sued the club at FIFA.##NAJAVA_MECA_8183876##In an interview with Citizen TV, Nyaoro stated that they don’t have any pending cases at FIFA and are not aware of any player who has sued the club.He urged all fans and stakeholders to maintain their belief and prepare to support the team in the continental assignment.“As the person responsible for logistics and records at the club, I want to say that as of now, there are no hindrances on paperwork and club licensing. As we speak, there is no pending case involving the club with FIFA. The CEO and the secretariat have done their bit,” said Nyaoro.Nyaoro, responsible for logistics and planning, acknowledged the difficulty of organizing such tasks and thanked the club’s partners who have helped shoulder the burden. He also assessed the season that ended with Gor Mahia winning comfortably, having been confirmed champions with three games still to play.Gad promises a better rebound following an injury-plagued season.“It has been a very tough season. It is not always as easy as people might think. You have to sweat blood to get the trophy. On logistics, it has been difficult, but we partner with well-wishers and different people to hire training grounds and hotels for matches,” he explained.“It is especially tough for a team like Gor Mahia where the standards are high because, for instance, the team only sleeps in a 3-star hotel and above whenever they go,” he added.Nyaoro also expressed his gratitude to departing Gor Mahia head coach Jonathan McKinstry. He wished McKinstry could stay to guide the team in the CAF Champions League but assured fans that the team is well-prepared for the duty.Emerging Stars face Zambia’s Chipolopolo in COSAFA Cup Group B opener
