Mara Sugar Team Manager Gilbert Ledama has affirmed that the club will adhere to its established routine and not bring in many new players after earning promotion to the FKF Premier League.Mara was promoted after finishing the season as champions of the National Super League, advancing alongside Mathare United.Unlike other teams that overhaul their squads after promotion, The Millers has maintained its core group of players since its inception in 2013.What Gor Mahia fans can expect from newly appointed head coach Leonardo NeivaThe club has consistently retained its squad, only making minimal additions to address specific needs as they progressed from the County League through subsequent tiers. In an interview during the team’s coronation at Police Sacco Grounds, Ledama stated that the elevation to the top tier will not alter the club’s philosophy.”We are well prepared and we won’t sign a lot of players. Going by our history since 2013 in the County League, when we are elevated, we sign only four to five players depending on the areas that need strengthening,” he said.Ledama added, “Our players are experienced, and we have played FKF Premier League sides in the Mozzart Bet Cup, so we know what to expect.”Ledama, one of the longest-serving members of the team, also expressed gratitude to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) for its organization during the recently concluded NSL campaign.”Mara Sugar is the first team in the Maasai region and from Narok County to feature in the Premier League. I want to thank the federation for allowing us to compete fairly without considering the tribe or region the team was coming from. If it were otherwise, we wouldn’t be celebrating promotion,” he added.”Football is growing. This promotion is historic. We will now have the likes of Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, and Kenya Police coming to Maasai land for league action, which is a great achievement for our county.”The football admin also refuted claims that the team will struggle in the top tier without significant additions to their squad.”We have climbed on merit, and if you check our progress, we have never been demoted from any level. We know it is tough up there, but we are going to give our best.”##NAJAVA_MECA_8193630##
