Former Bandari goalkeeper Justin Ndikumana says he doesn’t mind returning to the Kenyan Premier League barely one and half years after ditching the competition for greener pastures in Tanzania. Ndikumana left the 2019 cup winners Bandari in January last year for Tanzanian Premier League side Coastal Union, bringing to an end his close to five-year stay in Kenya. The Burundian international parted company with Coastal Union in January this year for Mtibwa Sugar but was unfortunate to suffer relegation with the club at the end of the 2023-2024 campaign. ##NAJAVA_MECA_8191715##Mtibwa’s relegation to the second tier, meant that the club will lose the experienced goalkeeper and a host of players who were outstanding in the concluded season.Ndikumana, insists that he has unfinished business in the Kenyan top tier and would wish to grace it for the second time and win titles. In his first stint on Kenyan soil, Ndikumana was named the second best goalkeeper in the 2018-2019 season behind Farouk Shikalo. He also won a player of the month during his time at Sofapaka. Tusker likely to lose Daniel Sakari as league rivals keep up hunt” I am open to returning to the Kenyan Premier League in the off-season transfer window. I achieved remarkable success during the years I played in Kenya. I won individual awards and was a consistent starter in the national team. The only thing I didn’t achieve was winning a title and I believe I will if the opportunity comes,” he told Mozzart Sport. The 31-year-old says the experience he raked up in Tanzania has shaped him to a better goalkeeper and has helped instill more confidence. “The Tanzanian league, just like the Kenyan one, is very competitive. Teams in Tanzania attract huge following and I feel playing in front of crowds has helped improve on handling pressure among other aspects,” he said. Ndikumana joined Sofapaka in December 2018 from St. Eloi Lupopo and would move to Bandari in July of the following years. Gor, who are preparing for return to the CAF Champions League, are understood to be in search of an experienced shot stopper thanks to the demands of the competition. Besides, Gor, Zambian Super League side Green Eagles, Rwandese side Gasogi United are interested in signing Nahimana.
