Agoro Sare and Kisumu Day fans clashed twice before the game started. They transformed the ground into a pulsating dance floor and officials had to weave through the melee to politely persuade them to vacate the field and pave the way for the next match to begin.Mozzart Sport caught up with the passionate fans, keen to understand the motivation behind their loyal support to the team.The leader of the fans; Jeff Ochieng alias 001 asked for the school’s principal Isaac Okeyo to organise a fans’ party once they retained the Nyanza region title. If we qualify for FEASSSA, I will sell my wife and kids and go to watch this team play. I was born and found Agoro in existence. I will support it to the latter,” he offered.Kennedy Ochieng who comes from Homa Bay noted that his love for the team stemmed from their brilliant performance in class and on the field.“I love Agoro Sare because it is a team that does not despise anyone. If you go there, you must perform well in class, and the school is world-class. I come because I love this school. They play well, excel in academics, students are disciplined, and the school is within town, very accessible. Last year, we went to Kakamega. I wanted us to go to East Africa but we did not manage. This year, we must go to East Africa,” Owande told Mozzart Sport.On his side, the school’s principal Isaac Okeyo was proud that the fans propelled the team to greater heights. He noted that associating with the team gave them a sense of belonging.“The school is not an island. It belongs to the community. When you see them, they are ready to sacrifice their time and money to come cheer us on. When there is a game, they make their own travel arrangements to cheer us on. When we were playing in Machakos, Kakamega, and all those places they were there. I know if we qualify for FEASSSA, I know they will be there.”Agoro Sare started their title defense campaign with a 1-1 draw against Kisumu Day before heaping a 4-1 misery on Ongi’cha. They will lock horns with Kodero Bara on Friday.
