Shabana coach Sammy Omollo has vowed that the club will not fight against relegation next season. The Kisii-based side barely survived relegation from last season’s Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) after having just been promoted after a 17-year wait.Speaking in a local sports show on Saturday, Omollo said he had learnt what to do to ensure the team remains competitive in the new season.“One thing I want to promise our fans is that we will not be fighting relegation come next season. We shall be competitive,” he said.##NAJAVA_MECA_8226027##He pointed out that their strategy coming next season includes winning all their home matches.“When I was still active in playing, getting three points from Shabana at Gusii Stadium was always impossible. We want to bring back the same mentality and ensure that we win all our home matches.“The worst we will do is a draw at home and that should help us do well,” he explained.Gor Mahia shifts focus to Coal City Tournament in NigeriaOmollo further said while they will strive to do better next season, they still are not ready to challenge for the title at least not just yet.He further insisted that record champions Gor Mahia’s performance at the recent regional tournament is an indication of the team’s weakness.
