EURO winning coach brings the trophy to a local pub

Can you imagine living in Madrid and strolling to a local bar in the neighbourhood to drink some cold beer and chat with your friends? And all of a sudden, a familiar figure is approaching you. He comes to the bar and asks the waiter if there are any available tables outside. He sits and puts the EURO 2024 trophy on the table in front of him and orders a beer. Well, that really happened yesterday in Madrid’s ‘Hermanos Vilar bar’, where Luis de la Fuente came to have a drink! Off course, the Spanish international coach doesn’t walk around in the streets of Madrid carrying the trophy every day, but in that particular moment, he gave a big interview for ‘Marca’ and decided to freshen up afterwards. The bar’s guests watched De la Fuente in amassment and then approached him to take a photo with him and the trophy and to ask him something about the recently finished EURO, where his team won the title playing the best and most beautiful football among all other countries.Morata and Rodri charged by UEFAThe Spanish coach had patience for everybody who were in the bar, including the people who were just passing by and saw the coach sitting. And even thou he now has a big trophy to boost about, he still claims that the fame didn’t change him.“The essence of being human doesn’t change. I’m the same as always. My process is the same: trying to be a better professional every day and, above all, a better person. That’s what really worries me today, a year or fifteen years ago: being a better person, making life easier for people. I try to follow the advice of Mother Teresa of Calcutta : don’t let anyone who comes to you leave without being a little better. I try to do that every day” he said to Marca. And he proved it, but sharing a few laughs, a trophy and a beer with fellow Madridians. OLYMPIC GAMES – FOOTBALL TOURNAMENTGroup stages – Round 1Wednesday16:00: (1.80) Argentina M23 (3.50) Morocco M23 (4.70)16:00: (9.50) Uzbekistan M23 (5.90) Spain M23 (1.28)18:00: (1.70) Guinea M23 (3.50) N.Zealand M23 (5.50)18:00: (1.25) Egypt M23 (6.50) Dom.Rep.M23 (10.0)20:00: (4.70) Iraq M23 (3.50) Ukraine M23 (1.80)20:00: (2.10) Japan M23 (3.40) Paraguay M23 (3.60)22:00: (1.48) France M23 (4.40) USA M23 (6.75)22:00: (2.55) Mali M23 (3.15) Israel M23 (2.95)***odds are subject to change***
