Shabana FC has moved to end all murmurs about their technical bench by confirming Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omolo as their head coach for the coming season. There had been speculation that the club might look elsewhere for a new coach, but the confirmation that the former Kenyan international, who helped keep the team in the league last year, will remain as the head coach for the new season has put those rumours to rest.##NAJAVA_MECA_8230755##There have, however, been changes in some of the technical roles within the team. Assistant coach George Owoko has departed, with former Nzoia Sugar FC coach Godfrey ‘Solo’ Oduor taking his place. Oduor, also a former Harambee Starlets and Kibera Black Stars coach, has previously served as KCB FC’s assistant coach.Fitness and Conditioning coach Oscar Kambona has also exited, with his role now being filled by Timothy Ondeko. Ondeko, a former Bunyore Starlets coach, was also part of the Kakamega Homeboyz FC technical bench.Former Kakamega Homeboyz keeper and goalkeepers’ coach David Juma will handle the keepers, while Elijah Sani will maintain his role as the club team manager. Former club assistant coach Kevin Momanyi will now coach the youth team, with Kefa Mogire deputizing him. Emmanuel Wanyama is the team physiotherapist, and Tyrus Onchieku is the kit manager.Pamzo has already spoken about the team’s goals for next season, promising that the team will not battle relegation in the coming campaign.“Let’s not put winning the league pressure on Shabana FC because the team just got promoted recently and strived to remain in the league. We have to set realistic goals. First, the target is to get all three points in our home games. We must win our home games at Gusii Stadium, and that is the mentality I want to instill in our players,” he said.“I have been with the team for six months, and I now understand the team better and how things work at the club,” he added. The club has so far confirmed two new signings: Cliff Nyakeya and Maxwell Mulili a winger and goalkeeper respectively, from AFC Leopards. They are also expected to bring in right-back Elvis Osok from Posta Rangers.Michael Olunga Football Academy set to acquire Rainbow FC in merger deal
