Kenya Police custodian Patrick Matasi has says that the team picked up valuable lessons from their friendly match against Vipers Sports Club.The Mozzartbet winners played Uganda’s Vipers on Saturday night at St. Mary’s Stadium, where the former Uganda league champions defeated Police 2-0. The match was part of the law enforcers’ preparations ahead of their debut in the CAF Confederation Cup next month.##NAJAVA_MECA_8242130##The Salim Babu-coached side will face Ethiopian Coffee in the preliminary round, with the first leg scheduled for August 16th at the Nyayo National Stadium.Police secured their spot in the CAF Confederations Cup after winning the Mozzartbet Cup final last month, overcoming KCB FC 8-7 in post-match penalties at Ulinzi Sports Complex in Lang’ata.”It was a great experience, especially playing against a team that has been actively participating at the top level and in CAF matches. Though we lost the match, we gained valuable insights that I believe will shape our preparations for the upcoming first leg,” said Matasi, a former Tusker goalkeeper. He also noted that the match provided a good opportunity for the team to improve their handling of away matches.Following the first leg on August 16th, Police will travel to Ethiopia for the return leg a week later.”We faced a team with high quality, which made it a valuable exposure for us. It was an excellent chance to learn how to manage ourselves in away CAF matches,” Matasi added.The winner of the two-legged preliminary tie will advance to face defending champions Zamalek SC of Egypt.New signings Eric Zakayo, Brian Musa, Daniel Sakari, Alfred Leku, and Jaffary Owiti all featured in the practice match. Police returned to Kenya on Monday to continue their preparations.
